    Student Led Conferences are similar to traditional Parent-Teacher Conferences but are facilitated by the student. Students use their Digital Portfolios to lead a focused dialogue with their parents/guardians and teachers concerning their performance at Animas High School. SLCs are an integral part of the reflective process inherent in all AHS classes, and result in a clear understanding and agreement between the parent, student, and teacher about the student’s status and goals in all classes. SLCs occur once a semester and require professional dress and mandatory participation by all students.

  • Healthy Kids Colorado Survey - (AHS Event)

    Students in all grades will participate in the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey during their grade-level Math classes. The purpose of the survey is to better understand youth health and what factors support youth to make healthy choices. It is conducted statewide every two years, and is supported by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Human Services. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus administers the survey.

    Freshmen, Sophomores and their families are encouraged to attend the Freshman/Sophomore College Night, where AHS college counselor Jess Adams will share important information about the college application journey that starts with understanding personal interests, career clusters and cultivating the "college fit." Learn about how students are working on college preparation in school and what can be focused on at home during their first years of high school. The focus will be on the process of considering the colleges that are the best fit for student interests, as well as what they should consider in course selection, testing prep and extracurricular activities to maximize admission opportunities.

    Join us November 15 at the Henry Strater Theatre for our Fall Fundraiser and Silent Auction, sponsored by Alpine Bank. Enjoy robust appetizers, live music, student exhibitions and a silent auction highlighting the diverse talents of our students and staff. Mingle with other Ospreys and supporters while celebrating all that makes our school unique and amazing. This event is part of our annual fundraising campaign and we appreciate all the sponsors who have already pledged their support, helping Animas High School in our mission to deliver innovative, project-based education, preparing all students for college and postsecondary success.
