  • TWIGS Parent/Family Happy Hour

    March 30, 2023  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Anarchy Brewing Company, 225 E 8th Ave Unit C, Durango

Welcome to TWIGS, AHS' family engagement program! Our mission is to create meaningful connections among AHS families so that we can collectively provide social, educational and financial support for Animas High School.

At the foundation of every beautiful Osprey getting ready to soar is an intricate woven nest of twigs, creating a safe and secure environment. Even though our students are learning to be fabulously independent humans, that support is still essential to their success. As AHS is not your typical high school, TWIGS is not your typical PTA. We are creating a fun, social environment where families can connect, support the students and staff and be a part of the AHS community at large.

Osprey Parents and Families are invited to join us for TWIG Happy Hours on the 4th Wednesday of each month. We'll pick local watering holes each month. Stop by for a drink, a nosh and a chance to connect with AHS families.

    TWIGS: Together We Inspire Greatness!

    April 17, 2023  8:30 am - May 5, 2023  3:30 pm

The Leading Internships for New Knowledge (LINK) program is an integral piece of the Animas High School curriculum in Durango, Colorado, as it exemplifies our belief in the value of student-centered, personalized instruction that connects learning to the adult world.  LINK takes students beyond the classroom walls in order to clarify personal, college and career goals while teaching invaluable professional skills and life lessons.

With support from Durango's Business Education Connection, students find internships either locally or further afield that allow them to dive deeply into their individual passions, interests and potential career paths.  They are paired with LINK Mentors who generously share their time, energy and expertise.  While on their internships, AHS juniors make meaningful contributions to their host businesses and organizations while also completing individual LINK Projects.
