Here is an excerpt from Colleen\u2019s nomination:<b>\u00a0 \u201c<\/b>In addition to excelling in the classroom and making the study of Biology meaningful to everyday life, Colleen takes the time to reach out and engage with students.\u00a0 Colleen is known for her student involvement and her efforts to connect students closer with the school, particularly those that struggle with inclusion.\u00a0 Colleen builds relationships with students through activities above and beyond the call of duty. \u00a0Colleen has also inspired students to be actively involved in environmentally oriented service programs and instilled in them a desire to \u201cgive back\u201d to the community and the world.\u201d<br \/>\n<b>Crystal Pennington<\/b> has been awarded the Dr. Linda Ekman Simmons Award of Excellence for Outstanding Future Teachers from Fort Lewis College. Specifically, she\u2019s won the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Program award.
