Exploratories<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; In an effort to \u201cre-market\u201d this hour of the day, SIG\u2019s will now be referred to a s Exploratories.<br \/>\n&#8211; The purpose of Exploratories is to spark interest in topics that students have not been exposed to and<br \/>\nextend student knowledge and expertise in topics they already have an interest in.<br \/>\n<strong>2. What\u2019s the same?<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Offered twice a week for one hour<br \/>\n&#8211; Homework free with a focus on building culture and inspiring a love of learning<br \/>\n&#8211; Pass or Fail<br \/>\n&#8211; Help Classes will still be offered for each content area.<br \/>\n<strong>3. What\u2019s different?<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Exploratories will last for one semester (some may be a full year)<br \/>\n&#8211; Teachers will create a syllabus addressing the following:<br \/>\n\u2022 Goal of the course<br \/>\n\u2022 Topics covered and guiding questions<br \/>\n\u2022 Teachers develop a clear outline of what students need to do in order to pass the course.<br \/>\n&#8211; Teacher\u2019s facilitating Help Classes will track student progress.<br \/>\n\u2022 Students can elect to be in a Help Class<br \/>\n\u2022 Students will be removed from their Exploratory and moved into a Help Classes as needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Students need to be passing their class for two weeks before they can re-enter their Exploratory.<br \/>\n<strong>4.
