■ 2nd Semester Enrollment Opens
2nd Semester Enrollment Opens
October 3, 2023 8:00 am - 8:00 am
Animas High School recognizes that students may choose to change schools midyear. We endeavor to continue our fair and equitable enrollment process through our second semester enrollment window which opens after Pupil Count Day and concludes two weeks after the start of 2nd semester. If a student completes an Intent to Enroll Form after the January enrollment window has closed, they must resubmit an Intent to Enroll Form and will not be considered for enrollment until the following fall.
The 2024 2nd semester Intent To Enroll Form will open on Tuesday, October 3 at 8am. Click through the yellow "ENROLL" button at the top of our website to access it.
If the school receives more applications for midyear enrollment than it has spaces available, priority for admissions shall be assigned in the following order:
- Students returning at semester from an exchange program
- Siblings of current, returning students or alumni of Animas High School Children of employees, Board members, or founders of Animas High School, not to exceed 20% annually.
- First come first serve basis, determined by date and time Intent to Enroll Form is submitted
See our Student and Family Handbook for the full Enrollment Policy.

■ TWIGS Buds Meeting
TWIGS Buds Meeting
October 17, 2023 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Animas High School, 22 Osprey Way, Durango
As AHS is not your typical high school, TWIGS is not your typical PTA. We are creating a fun, social environment where families can connect, support our students and staff, and be a part of the AHS community at large.
The TWIGS Buds serve as the planning group for TWIGS events and initiatives, including parent coffees, happy hours, shared readings and staff appreciation. ALL ARE WELCOME!
At the foundation of every beautiful Osprey getting ready to soar is an intricate woven nest of twigs, creating a safe and secure environment. Even though our students are learning to be fabulously independent humans, that support is still essential to their success.
